Destini Martinez

For Destini Martinez, going back to school was about setting an example for her son. “I want him to be able to say, ‘My mom is a CNA, a Dental Assistant, and a future Surgical Technician.’

She graduated from the Dental Assistant program at Milan Institute in Amarillo on May 13, 2025. “Everyone was so helpful throughout my time in school,” she shared. Balancing school with raising a two-year-old was tough, but with her family’s support, she made it through.

Now working at Ideal Dental in Amarillo, Destini plans to continue her education and become a surgical technician.

Her advice: “Keep pushing—it’s worth it. Be confident, show your skills, and the opportunities will follow.”
