Desiree Clemments – Advanced Cosmetology Graduate, San Antonio South

Desiree Clemments returned to school because she wanted a career she truly loved. Enrolling in the Advanced Cosmetology program at Milan Institute allowed her to pursue her passion while proving to herself—and her family—that it’s never too late to go back to school.

Desiree describes her experience at Milan as positive and supportive. She loved her instructors, built strong friendships, and enjoyed working with clients throughout the program. Balancing school with home life as a wife and mom of four wasn’t easy, but Desiree pushed through with determination, wanting to show her children that hard work and perseverance pay off at any age.

Today, Desiree works at Jet Clips (Great Clips) in San Antonio, where she continues growing her skills in the industry. One of her favorite memories from school was being nicknamed the “perm queen” by those around her—a title she proudly earned.

Looking ahead, Desiree plans to build her clientele and eventually open her own salon or barbershop. Her advice to future students is confident and encouraging: “Just do it. Don’t dwell on the what-ifs—you won’t regret it.”
