Kristine Henderson – Cosmetology Graduate & Instructor, Reno

Kristine Henderson chose to pursue cosmetology because she wanted a career she could truly be proud of. Like many students, she didn’t realize the full value of her education while she was in school—but once she entered the real world, she quickly recognized how strong her training from Milan Institute was compared to others.

Kristine credits her experience at Milan with teaching her persistence and reminding her not to give up on what makes her happy. She is especially grateful for the instructors who shaped her along the way, each bringing different teaching styles and guidance that helped mold her into the professional she is today.

Now a Milan Institute instructor in Reno since 2022, Kristine has come full circle—using her experience to educate and inspire the next generation of stylists. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue growing in education and eventually pursue higher education.

Her advice to students is both practical and empowering: “Don’t give up, trust the process, and lean on your instructors. There are years of experience at your fingertips—don’t be afraid to use it.”

Jacqueline Bermea returned to school to learn more about what she’s genuinely passionate about and gain new experiences in the beauty industry. She describes her time at Milan Institute as a great experience filled with supportive instructors and meaningful connections.

Jacqueline appreciated that each instructor taught her something different and always made time to help, encourage, and keep learning fun. Although she faced multiple obstacles and moments where she felt like giving up, the support of her instructors and family kept her motivated to push through and finish strong.

Today, Jacqueline works at Great Clips in San Antonio, where she continues to grow her skills and gain hands-on experience. One of her favorite memories from Milan was the laughter and relationships she built with classmates and instructors, which made her time in school memorable and enjoyable.

Looking ahead, Jacqueline hopes to grow professionally, open her own suite and business, and eventually become an instructor so she can teach others about the passion she loves.

Her advice to future students is heartfelt and upbeat: “Enjoy the moments, do your work, have fun, and don’t give up—it goes by fast, and it’s worth it.”
