Meet Our New Las Cruces Campus Director: Cortney Bruns
Milan Institute is proud to introduce Cortney Bruns as the Campus Director of our new Las Cruces, New Mexico location. With more than a decade of experience in the beauty industry and a proven track record in educational leadership, Cortney brings both technical expertise and a strong commitment to student success.
Cortney earned her cosmetology license in 2010 and spent eight years behind the chair, building real-world salon experience and a deep understanding of client care, service standards, and professionalism. In 2018, she obtained her instructor license and transitioned into education to help the next generation of beauty professionals launch their careers.
That same year, Cortney joined Milan Institute, where she instructed in the classroom for two years before moving into a supervisory role. Over the last five years, she has overseen educational programs, supported instructors, refined curriculum delivery, and helped create a consistent, high-quality learning experience for students.
Cortney is licensed in three states, underscoring her commitment to professional growth and regulatory excellence. In New Mexico, she holds both cosmetology and instructor licenses; in Nevada, she is licensed in cosmetology, advanced esthetics, and as an instructor; and in Texas, she is licensed in cosmetology. This multi-state perspective uniquely positions her to guide students in a constantly evolving beauty industry.
As Campus Director in Las Cruces, Cortney is excited to build a welcoming, student-centered campus culture. She is dedicated to ensuring that every student feels supported from their first day of class through graduation, and that our programs reflect Milan’s standards of hands-on, career-focused training for in-demand beauty professions.
