Milan Institute Houston is proud to celebrate our incredible Massage Therapy instructor, Emma Thompson, who was recently invited by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to participate in the Strategic Planning Committee for 2027–2031.
During this exciting opportunity, Emma connected with TDLR Executive Director Courtney Arbour and TDLR Commissioner Dr. Gary Wesson, proudly representing Milan Institute Houston. Her participation allowed her to gain valuable insight while also sharing meaningful feedback on behalf of our campus community.

Massage Therapy at Milan Institute
Conveniently located near Spring and the Bush Intercontinental Airport, Milan Institute Houston is easy to find and accessible to students throughout the area. Our campus provides hands-on training and an inviting learning environment designed to help students succeed in their chosen careers, including massage therapy.
There are only 6 TDLR-licensed massage therapy educational programs located in the city of Houston, making Emma’s statewide involvement especially noteworthy.
Who is the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation?
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation plays a vital role in safeguarding public health and maintaining high professional standards across the state. By ensuring massage therapists receive accurate, comprehensive training and meet strict licensure requirements, the TDLR supports both practitioners and clients in achieving the best outcomes.
Please join us in congratulating Emma on this outstanding accomplishment. We are honored to have her represent Milan Institute Houston in such an important setting. This is a proud moment for our campus, and a great reminder that Milan Institute Houston is on the map.
