SuperCuts hires Milan Alumni

SuperCuts and Milan Institute have become a powerhouse team in the salon industry. According to Diana Arias, it’s thanks to Milan Institute alumni and their ability to adapt and so much more.

“Dependability,” says Diana Arias, Regional Manager of Texas Salons/Nitu Group, “Working hard to hit individual goals and customer service capabilities are some of the qualities and skills I notice most in Milan Institute Alumni.

Exemplary employees at SuperCuts

The passion required to be an exemplary employee at Supercuts is infused in Milan Institute’s course-work, but also goes beyond the classroom. As students advance through the barbering and cosmetology programs, they begin working in the student salons.

It is in the student salons and spas that future Milan grads can assist clients. They become familiar with a variety of styles and hair types. These instructor-supervised salon services can help mold students into master stylists.

“They are very coachable when it comes to functioning in a real-world salon,” says Diana. “They have also been exemplary examples of their willingness to be successful in the SuperCuts brand of salons.”

Students in the Milan Institute barbering and cosmetology programs also have the opportunity to externship with SuperCuts. While participating in externships, students can show potential employers their desire to grow and succeed in a salon.

“Externships are very helpful in identifying potential hires,” says Diana. “It helps show their level of commitment to the job and brand.”

Diana believes the growth outlook of barbering and cosmetology shows potential. This growth potential is partially due to the dip in licensing that occurred during the height of the pandemic.

“Our industry is headed towards a refreshed outlook,” says Diana. “I feel like our licensed professionals took a back seat and thanks to social media, people thought that they could do their hair color, hair cuts, etc, without getting a license.”

That DIY mindset, much like the bowl cuts that came with it, has grown out of style.

“People are realizing that not anybody can do this without a proper education,” Diana explained.
