Milan Institute Takes on Barber-Con Dallas 2026

Barber-Con Dallas 2026 brought thousands of barbers, cosmetologists, educators, and beauty brands together at Gilley’s in Dallas on September 13, and Milan Institute of Cosmetology was right in the middle of it. Our Denton campus sent four students and four employees to spend the day learning, networking, and representing Milan on one of the biggest stages in the barbering industry.

The energy was incredible. Attendees traveled in from Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Florida, Texas, and beyond, and the event delivered exactly what Barber-Con is known for: multiple stages of live tutorials, barber battles, a packed vendor marketplace, and hands-on education classes covering barbering, cosmetology, and men’s grooming.

Building Industry Connections

One of the biggest wins of the day was face time with the brands our students will use throughout their careers. Our team connected with representatives from:

  • RedPro

  • Armstrong McCall

  • Andis

  • Hattori Hanzo

  • Monster Clippers

  • 7 Dollar Beauty Supply Inc.

Several of these vendors expressed interest in visiting our campuses to lead product demonstrations and education sessions for our students. That kind of direct access to professional brands is exactly what we want to bring back to the classroom, and we are continuing to follow up on every one of those conversations.

Inclusive Education With Sensory Safe Solutions

A standout connection came from Sensory Safe Solutions, a company that trains stylists to work safely and effectively with clients who have disabilities, including individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities.

They have offered to provide free education to our instructors, who can then pass those techniques directly to our students. They also offer sensory-friendly clippers and scholarship opportunities. Learning how to serve every client with confidence and care is a skill that will follow our graduates through their entire careers, and we are excited about where this partnership could go.

Curriculum and CEU Resources

We also met Mitchell, a licensed barber and curriculum developer who shared details on his barbering curriculum and educational resources. He offers free CEU opportunities and holds accreditation through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), which opens the door to more continuing education options for our instructors.

Hands-On Highlights From the Show Floor

Our instructor Ms. LaJoyce jumped into the Barber Battle and walked away with a set of new professional tools courtesy of RedPro. She also attended educational classes throughout the day to bring fresh techniques back to her students.

Another favorite moment was the Andis Silent Education Class, where attendees wore headphones during the demonstration. In a venue full of clippers, music, and crowd noise, the format let everyone focus completely on the educator. It was a creative approach to industry education and a genuinely fun experience.

Our team also performed 11 Aura scans at the event, giving attendees a personalized look at their skin while introducing them to what Milan Institute has to offer.

What We Brought Home

Barber-Con Dallas 2026 was a success for our students, our employees, and our campuses. We walked away with:

  • Prospective student leads

  • New industry relationships

  • Potential on-campus product demonstrations

  • Free education and CEU opportunities for instructors

  • Fresh ideas for future student experiences

Events like this remind us why hands-on exposure matters. Our students did not just watch the industry work, they stood in it, talked to the people shaping it, and saw what their own future can look like.

Thank you to everyone who represented Milan Institute and helped make Barber-Con Dallas 2026 such a great experience. Great job to all who participated.
