Our Advanced Cosmetology program is designed to help you master the skills and techniques necessary for success. In addition to foundational cosmetology training, this program offers five specialized 60-hour modules that give you an edge in today’s competitive beauty industry.

Advanced Modules Include:

  • Eyelash Extension Education: Learn basic and volume eyelash applications.
  • Makeup Education: Master glamour, bridal, corrective, and creative makeup techniques.
  • Hair Extensions Education: Explore full and supplemental hair extension applications.
  • Tapers and Fades Education: Perfect tapers, fades, and line-ups.
  • Skincare Education: Gain expertise in microdermabrasion and peel techniques.

You’ll also develop essential skills in professional development, health and safety, and client communication to prepare you for licensure and a thriving career.

In both the Cosmetology and Advanced Cosmetology programs in Texas, students learn:

  • Hairstyling Services – Master techniques like blow drying, shampooing, curling, arranging, and non-chemical straightening. You’ll also learn wet and dry haircutting using tools such as shears, razors, clippers, and thinning shears.
  • Chemical Hair Services – Dive into hair coloring, straightening, waving, and bleaching. You’ll practice hair analysis, perform predisposition and strand tests, mix formulas, and safely use dye removers.
  • Skin Care Services – Gain expertise in facials, massages, and exfoliation. Learn to cleanse and beautify the face, scalp, neck, or body using hands, esthetic devices, and cosmetic products like lotions, tonics, and creams.
  • Hair Removal and Lash and Brow Services –Train in tinting, perming, and applying eyelashes and brows. Learn hair removal techniques using waxing, tweezers, sugaring, depilatories, and other methods.
  • Manicuring and Pedicuring –Perfect water and oil manicures, as well as hand, arm, foot, and ankle massages. Get hands-on experience with nail analysis and artificial nail applications, including acrylics, dip powders, tips, wraps, and repairs.
  • Professional Development – Build essential skills like communication, customer service, record-keeping, and job readiness. Learn professional ethics, decorum, and strategies for seeking employment in the beauty industry.
  • Disinfection and Sanitation – Understand best practices to protect the health and safety of clients and technicians. Learn proper procedures for disinfecting tools and equipment used in salons.
  • Health and Safety Considerations –Study anatomy (hair, skin, and nails), chemical safety, and preventing injuries. Learn about communicable disease prevention, electrical safety, and State Board Laws and Regulations.

Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the State Board exam and qualify for entry-level positions in Cosmetology.

Going back to school was something I had put behind me for several years, I felt that if I didn't put my head to doing so I would never get to it. I finally said I would and I did. The cosmetology program set me up to do what I craved the most, I was always attracted to the beauty industry and felt as if I was a little undecided about what I wanted to focus on. Going to school filled me with great knowledge and experience, and I was surrounded by mentors that pushed me to succeed and find my passion.
