In the Manicurist-Nail Technology Course, students will learn to perform basic manipulative skills in the areas of manicures, pedicures, nail tips, wraps, and nail enhancements. In addition, perform the basic analytical skills to determine proper nail services and nail shaping for the clients’ overall image and needs.

Learn the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to pass the State Board examination and for competency in entry-level job positions as a Manicurist or related career avenue.

Employment Opportunities

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of manicurists and pedicurists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2018 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. New nail services such as mini-sessions, mobile manicures, and pedicures may drive employment growth. In addition, high turnover and a growing number of nail salons will result in job opportunities.

National averages may not accurately reflect workers’ earnings and employment opportunities in particular parts of the country. They may include earners and employment opportunities at all stages of their careers and not just recent graduates’ entry-level wages and opportunities.
