Students from Milan Institute of Cosmetology in Reno demonstrated their commitment to community service by participating in a recent event hosted by Vituity Cares. The pop-up medical clinic, aimed at serving the chronically homeless and under-insured, offered attendees a unique combination of medical care and complimentary haircuts.
Vituity Cares is a national non-profit organization that organizes clinics to provide essential medical services. The foundation partners with local organizations to offer additional services to attendees. Milan Institute of Cosmetology stepped up to provide free haircuts to clinic attendees.
Milan Students Give Back
“Our students and Instructors showed up BIG today,” said Robin Walsh, Director at Milan Institute of Cosmetology. She expressed pride in the students’ efforts. “They provided haircuts to 25+ attendees who all received medical attention and haircuts!”
The event showcased the power of community collaboration. This community service project allowed Milan Institute students to apply their skills to make a difference in people’s lives. By offering free haircuts, the students practiced their cosmetology skills. More importantly, they contributed to the overall success of the clinic.
