Milan Institute of Cosmetology-El Paso hosted its graduation ceremony on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre.
Family and friends of 382 graduates were invited to celebrate this huge milestone in their career journey. It is estimated over 1,200 people were in attendance.
“In order to qualify for graduation,” says campus Director Sandra Carrillo, “students must complete their training hours and have a minimum GPA of 80% or higher.” The number of hours varies by career training program.
Graduates in the October ceremony came from several programs including barbering, cosmetology, esthetician, eyelash extension, and manicurists.
The Color Guard of Bel Air High School in El Paso was invited to do the presentation of colors and procession at the beginning of the ceremony. Sylvia Valdez of V Beauty Pure was also invited to be the guest speaker. Valdez is a successful local manicurist who is also an educator and Instagram influencer.
