Hey, what’s going on, guys? We are live at the Amarillo Civic Center South Exhibit Hall for the 2025 Panhandle Jobs Fair. Now, we’ve got 80-plus amazing employers out here offering you opportunities. So, dress appropriately. That’s number one. Two, arrange child care. That’s important. Make sure you drop the kids off with Nana. And bring that resume and be ready to talk confidently about yourself, about what you’re looking for, your skills, and everything that you want out of a career. Now, we’ve got, man, definitely one of the favorites out here is Milan Institute. I’ve got (Campus Director) Tori with me. Hi, how are you?

I’m doing great. How are you?

I’m good. So, give us a little bit, if people don’t know what Milan is and what they do, give us a little rundown about Milan Institute.

So, Milan Institute is a school. We’re mostly known for our cosmetology program, but we’re much more than that. So, we’ve got manicuring. We’ve got esthetician. We’re actually fixin’ to start barbering and advanced esthetician. We also do allied health programs. We’ve got a medical assisting program and a dental assisting program that helps people get into careers in a short time.

See, and that’s amazing because if somebody would ask me, hey, what’s Milan Institute, I’d say hair. I didn’t know you guys did all that stuff.

You know, we get that at every event we go to, but we’ve been around. We actually just celebrated our 40th anniversary. We’ve got 13 campuses across the United States, and we hear that at everywhere we go. They’re like, you guys do hair, right? And I’m like, we’re so much more than that.

Kind of back to the hair, not to concentrate necessarily on that, but barbering is becoming a really big deal. It is definitely becoming big here.

It’s definitely growing, which is why we’re adding the program to our school so that we can offer students, you know, what they’re looking for so that they can get into a career that they love and they’re passionate about.

Now, I would imagine anybody could get into the Milan Institute, but I would imagine folks just coming out of high school. Is that a big one? And if they are looking for a career? And this is something that, if a path that they’re interested in, is there financial aid? Is there any of that stuff?

Absolutely. So, not only do we offer financial aid for those who qualify, but we also offer scholarships for some of our allied health programs. And then we offer a Follow Your Dreams scholarship for all of our graduating seniors from high school to give them a scholarship to get started right out of high school and start on the right foot.

Someone comes in, they get enrolled, they fly through the classes. What is the earliest they’re going to be certified, they’re going to be licensed?

For cosmetology, about ten and a half months, if they do day classes, for our medical assisting and dental assisting programs, nine months, and that does include an externship in the community.
